The concept of capturing the energy force of wind has been around for centuries.  Wind power has been used to power windmills that crushed or grinded solid substances into grain.  Today wind turbines use the force of the wind to generate electricity, which is used to power homes and businesses.  Wind turbines can be a great compliment to a solar system, since you can produce wind energy during stormy periods when the sun is usually not out.
